About Us
The HCI@Cam Network was created to bring together researchers involved in world-leading but institutionally dispersed work in human-computer interaction (HCI) conducted across the University of Cambridge. The network was launched in September 2025 by Cambridge HCI researcher, Dorian Peters of the Institute for Technology and Humanity, who convened the group as a regular informal lunch gathering. The goal was to strengthen connections, build collaborations, support early career researchers, and share experiences in a convivial setting.
We continue to hold an HCI@Cam lunch event about every six weeks and occasionally invite special guests from outside the university. In response to interest from members, we also launched the Women in HCI subgroup that meets up for a Women in HCI coffee hour, which provides a relaxed forum for women and gender-diverse members to seek advice, share experiences, and advance representation in the field.
